.Acknowledgements:

First off, I posthumously thank Colin Chapman ,
for his imagination and genius for designing and---
building such wonderful cars.------------------------------------
It IS true that once you drive a Lotus, you want
to forget all the others.----------------------------------------------

I must also posthumously thank Fred Stevenson,
of Lotus East, ( also gone ), who was so helpful--------
to me in my early days of Lotus ownership. --------------
-I will never forget the sight of hundreds of Elans
and Europas sitting in the field behind the shop at---
Lotus East, in Millerton, N.Y., waiting to be shipped-
to the various dealers they were destined for.----------

To Lee Weinberg, who helped to rescue my---
Spyder space frame chassis from U.S. Customs,------
after it was impounded when the import agent---------
was arrested for running guns to Northern Ireland.-
( He was hiding them in the supposedly empty
shipping crates that he was returning to England.)
Thanks Lee, the chassis is as good as you said
it would be.---------------------------------------------------------------------

I would also like to thank Joe Francica, of La---
Monsa Motors in Mahwah,N.J., who started out----------
as a mechanic on Lotus Sevens in Italy, worked--------
for a dealership in- Rutherford,N.J., & eventually-------
became the East Coast importer for the up scale------
cars.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He supplied me with a complete rolling chassis,
at a very reasonable price, when my 1976 Elite 504---
was destroyed by a fire, and thusly was able to keep-
me behind the wheel of a barely street legal Lotus.----
He also is a wealth of information about the early
days of Lotus.--------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to Pat Furgeson, of Queens, N.Y., (who
was an early Lotus dealer), for all the stories.-------------
One involved dicing, on the way back to the airport
after the 1963 U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, N.Y.,-
with Jim Clark & Colin Chapman in one rental car,----
and Pat and a friend in another.------------------------------------
Pat still had his original dealer sign at his service
station, and won't part with it.-------------------------------------
He also had some NOS parts, which he did part--
with.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I must also thank Dave Bean, of Dave Bean
Engineering in San Andreas, California, and the--
rest of his staff, for sharing their knowledge--------
( and their vast parts inventory ), so that I could
maintain my S1A Europa and Elite M50 for all of
these years.---------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly, once again, to everyone else
who has contributed to this site,
Thanks, and well done!
