The Lotus Seven
began as an uprated

of the successful Lotus Mark 6.

introduction was put off until time was

in the busy racing schedule.

chassis is a simplified version of the

has a steel tube frame with stressed
-------------------aluminum
panels in the undertray and sides,

aluminum bodywork, ( later with glass-

nose and fenders ).

variety of engines ( BMC, Ford, and

Climax ) were used, and many
--------------------upgrades
were made over the 16 years of
